Small actions that make a difference: Our employees respond to COVID-19

As the novel coronavirus has spread throughout the world, it has become increasingly clear that the only way we can cope with this challenge is to take whatever action we can, no matter how small, to help and support each other. Many of our employees felt this call to action, and through small acts of kindness and resourcefulness are making a positive difference to the situation we find ourselves in. Teams and even individual colleagues are finding means to contribute in their unique ways. These events show how motivation and compassion can go a long way, stories that express the belief that is felt by all of us at Dr. Reddy’s – Good Health Can’t Wait.

When the flights began to be grounded, our global supply chain team acted quickly and with persistence to find new solutions. For example, the launch of an important generic medicine in Europe ran into the danger to be significantly delayed, but despite all odds, our team didn’t let this happen.

In addition to ensuring the supply of medicines, we are also conscious that the lockdown has cost livelihoods and imposed untold misery on our society and we have done our best to provide succour.

From distributing masks and sanitizers to making daily meals for the migrant labour, we were there through and through. We have also initiated work on multiple projects to develop medicines which address the needs of COVID patients and are making rapid progress. The situation is evolving rapidly in terms of finding the best existing drugs based on clinical evidence that can be used to treat COVID patients. This is why we exist and we will do our best in these times.

While the pandemic will no doubt impact the economy and livelihoods, our commitment to patients remains unshaken. More than anything else, we all believe the bedrock that Dr Reddy’s is built on – our Values – will serve us well.  We are playing an important role in the global effort towards dealing with the pandemic and will surely be a significant part of the solution.
