Science is in our DNA

The lighthouses are some of the world’s most advanced factories from both digital and sustainable perspectives. These serve as beacons of light for the rest of the industry, and Dr Reddy’s too wants to lead the way as a world-class pharmaceutical company.

Our Lighthouse site is the FTO2 manufacturing unit, which will serve as a model for all our other locations. In keeping with our scientific legacy, we believe in embracing the most current technologies to improve manufacturing efficiency, while at the same time contributing to sustainable goals. The Lighthouse has significant impact on our culture and Capability, product quality and robustness, and efficiency and productivity.

So, what is life like in a Lighthouse factory? A digitally enabled factory of the future transforms the lives of the people on a shopfloor. For example, an integrated scheduler provides detailed information about priorities, shift planning, performance against plan indicators and realignment of plans where necessary based on exceptions and delays. All equipment is monitored in real time; an online digital twin of the shopfloor is made available with data related to all processes. Information tracking and decision-making are easier, upping the potential of supply chain logistics and distribution, and improving productivity.

“The scale and speed at which new-age technology solves problems is amazing, it has to be applied aptly to improve end-to-end value for the organisation,” says GV Prasad, Co-Chairman and Managing Director. Of course, manufacturing efficiency will ultimately help us to make our medicines accessible and affordable, because  Good Health Can’t  Wait.
